The parking structure provides 5,900 public vehicles at its upper four levels, and 1,200 rental vehicles at its ground level, devoted to Rental Automobile Company (RAC) activities. The second level is for the exclusive use of hourly parkers, and the third through sixth levels are for daily parking.
WDi was commissioned to design the renovation and building addition to the existing IPS #49 William Penn Cafeteria. The work involved expanding the existing dining hall and kitchen area to reduce the number of daily serving times from six to two times a day. WDi was commissioned to design the renovation and building addition to the existing IPS #49 William Penn Cafeteria. The work involved expanding the existing dining hall and kitchen area to reduce the number of daily serving times from six to two times a day. Services also included programming, planning, design, and construction administration services. WDi successfully managed the production team for the $1.2 Million building renovation/addition. Work included a cafeteria expansion of 1,045 square foot and 1,035 square foot cafeteria renovation work.
Among the challenges was dealing with a nearly 100-year-old building. Although it appears to be a rather straightforward four-story building, it is actually quite complex. Each floor has multiple levels - for instance, the main floor has 6 different levels. The structure has columns which changed from concrete to steel at various level
